This guide pays special attention to restaurants in Anglesey, Gwynedd and Conwy that welcome dogs indoors.
Dog-Friendly places to eat in Gwynedd
Two Islands Cafe and Ice Cream Parlour, Abersoch
The newly opened indoor cafe area of Two Islands is not only stylish and brimming with delicious bakes, but is dog-friendly. They ca do no wrong in my opinion.
The cafe area is fairly compact, so it’s best to come early to guarantee a seat with your pooch.
The Potted Lobster, Abersoch
If you book a table online with The Potted Lobster, you’ll see two options: ‘Indoor Dining’, or ‘Indoor Dining - Dog Friendly’. So it’s fair to say they take dogs very seriously.
The restaurant’s trendy and relaxed design paired with fresh local seafood makes for a great dining experience, with or without a furry companion.
The Swellies, Y Felinheli
I couldn’t write a dog-friendly post without including the wonderfully welcoming Swellies.
The snug cafe is locatied on the front of the Felinheli Marina, and offers outdoor seating too. If you want to bring your mutt into the cafe, they can get comfortable on one of the designated dog matts whilst you’re having some food.
Swellies are currently open every day from 10am.
Y Llofft, Y Felineli
Situated next to the Menai Strait is Felin’s newest eatery offering. Y Llofft has been a long time in the making - Owners Elen and Dylan, with the help & support of the community, have transformed The old Menai Bakery / Sail Loft into a sophistically quirky space.
Y Llofft currently offers a wholesome brunch & lunch menu Thursday - Sunday, with the occasional pop-up events. Chef Josh has brought his culinary skills and knowledge from Bristol - A well-known UK foodie city. So each dish offers something a little bit unique and exciting, with a Welsh spin.

The Toad, Colwyn Bay
For a cosy & intimate meal that hosts enough room for your pooch, I highly recommend The Toad in Colwyn Bay. Just give them a call to make sure you’re seating in the dog-friendly area!
Providero, Llandudno
Here’s a little afternoon itinery for you: Walk up The Great Orme with the dog, and on your way back, head to Providero for a light lunch and coffee. You’re welcome.
There is plenty of space indoors and outdoors to sit with a dog and have them sprawled out like mine tends to do.
Prov is currently open 7 days a week 8:30am-5pm, serving breakfast, lunch and everything in between.
Alpine Coffee Shop, Betws-Y-Coed
The Alpine Coffee Shop is a popular cafe in Betws-Y-Coed, focusing on free-range and palm-oil free produce. It’s also clear to see on their social media that they are proud of the fact they are dog-friendly (picture above, for example).
Their homemade and extensive menu has something for everyone, even dogs! This is a must visit if you’re in the area.
Pen-Y-Bryn, Colwyn Bay
Pen-Y-Bryn serves mouth-watering meals, especially their well-known Sunday Roasts. And if you’re a pushover like I am, it’s possible to drop a bit of chicken on the floor for your dog when your parents aren’t looking.
Decorated with oak floors, open fires and bookcases, Pen-Y-Bryn is the ideal spot to visit after a crispy winter walk or a hot summers day stroll, finishing off with a crisp cider in the beer garden.
Anglesey Restaurants that are Dog-Friendly
The White Eagle, Rhoscolyn
After a walk on the Rhoscolyn coastal path or a dip on the beach, it would be rude not to pay The White Eagle a visit.
They have an indoor dog-friendly seating section, as well as an impressive outdoor dining area.
The seasonal menu has something for everyone, including a delicious Green Thai aubergine curry, a heart Snowdon beef burger, and plenty of fresh seafood choices.
Pebbles Bistro, Benllech
For one of the best Sunday roasts on Anglesey, make sure to visit Pebbles Bistro. They are dog-friendly in the bar area and back room, and offer gravy bones snacks for the most well-behaved doggos.
Pebbles is nestled within the village of Benllech, and is home to one of the most popular beaches on the island.
It’s one of my favourite finds of last year, and can’t wait to take my dog there after a walk on the beach!
